Did you know that you can use the hot-water-perm method more than once on cornsilk hair?
These "curlers" are lengths of 3/8" plastic tubing designed to supply water to evaporative coolers. Here she is with her curlers.


Here's her head immersed in near-boiling water. Her head stayed in the water for about three minutes, and only the part on the curlers went into the water. The bangs weren't getting straightened.

Drying.

No combing, just a really good shaking:
