challenging eBay lot - poxy noggin

The little beanie-butt in orange sweater knit is really dirty:


Close-up of his poor head:


His pox are grey, black, green, and reverse:


Even the dishwasher didn't do him much good:


I tried to dye his head a darker color to hide some of the various pox, but there were large parts of his face that wouldn't take the dye.

Sadly, the head had to be discarded. His neon body is waiting for an appropriate transplant.

how much yarn for a reroot?

That skein of "Red Heart Super Saver" yarn weighs 5 oz (141 g) and is 244 yds (223 m) long. I used its twin to re-root this cute Kid with very long, very lush double ponies with two rows of loops around her face. Each strand in the ponies is about 32" long (you'll have to do the metric yourself, sorry). I have about 45 yards of yarn left, so let's round everything and say that this darling used about 200 yards of yarn. Her ponies are longer than most and fuller than most. Usually I cut the yarn into strands that are about half the size of the ones you see in this picture. Your mileage (oops, yardage) may vary. All done, dressed in wild clothing: ...and break-dancing on the floor!
