Spooky-Eyed Softie
Truda MacNutt put a lot of love and a lot of work into this cutie back in the day. The softie is a "Massanutten Muffin" and her birth date looks like 26 January 1986. The sculptor signed the left buttock and ironed on a tag on the upper back. Her stitching is all tight and even, and the only pulled stitches are the ones where the original wig was removed. No pulls on her body, no stains, generally very well cared-for or a display piece.
Full-body, front - Note the scary eyes. Her eyes seem to be bright blue marbles that catch the flash from the camera, and glow eerily. Lots of freckles, eyelashes the same color as the freckles, puggy little smooshed face...
Full-body, back - She has a signature on her buttock and an iron-on tag on her upper back.
Full-body, side - very long skinny arms, well-defined hands and fingers. Short pudgy legs, left foot is somewhat turned in and almost "clubbed" for want of a better term.
Her left side - Cute little ear, well-defined, but the occipital region of her head is larger than expected. Her smooshed-in face is well-captured in the photo.
Her right side - Another cute little ear. The raggedy parts are where her original wig was enthusiastically sewn on.
With a black curly wig - The wig totally hides the somewhat awkward head shape while allowing her cute little ears to be seen.
And with clothing - She's very cute in an "only a mother could love" sort of way, and if the eyes weren't quite so spooky, I'd give her to a child in a heartbeat.
