Restoring Tracy 3 - Old Hair

I really wanted to re-use the original hair, but it just was not pleasing.

I took off each individual curl, and straightened it out.  Each curl was made from two strands of yarn about 24" long, wrapped and sewn down.  There was no anchoring of each curl, so over the years, the yarn pulled out of some of the curls. Here you see the lengths of yarn, and the curls I tried to duplicate.

More curl duplication effort.  I think it's safe to say that I failed. The yarn is quite rough and is pretty much permanently formed into loose waves.

Maybe, I thought, it would look better on Tracy's head!
Nope.  It's stiff, and it doesn't "flow" well.
